01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A fried egg and a colorful assortment of sides, including eggplant achaar and carrot râpées, are spread across slender, fluffy grains of basmati rice. Set along a back alley in Sotokanda, Dining Bar Tigre (Dining Bar ティグレ) is an intimate dining bar outfitted with counter seats and small tables. At lunch, the house specialty is an authentic, generously assembled spiced curry plate. The kitchen turns out distinctive varieties, including a spicy keema fragrant with whole spices, a pork curry braised with red wine and shio-koji, and a coconut-milk prawn curry.
For those torn between options, choosing a platter with a combination of two or three curries is an easy solution. Folding the curries and sides together bit by bit releases bright acidity, warm spices, and rich complementary flavors that keep the spoon moving. The set also comes with tomato soup and yogurt, rounding off the meal with a refreshing finish.
In the evening, the bar hours offer a chance to unwind over cocktails, wine, or highballs paired with drink-friendly curries, sausages, and small dishes. Located close to Suehirocho Station, it serves as a convenient stop whether you need a substantial lunch or a relaxed glass to end the day.
